Annual Bastille Day Fete, 4:30 PM, Saturday, July
10, 2010
Stinson-Erdman
Home – 6920 SW Windemere Loop
Menu
Please join the WFSO’s annual
Bastille Day Fete with “affordable” French wine and a casual dinner in
the backyard of the Erdman/Stinson home.
Blue, red and white are the colors to wear.
Blue and red are the colors of Paris and white is the
color of royalty. For those
of you with “chicken hats”- (and you know who you are), it’s the time to
bring them out, dust them off and don them to show your allegiance to
the cause – vive la France!
Bastille Day – officially July 14th
- marks the end of the French monarchy and the beginning of the
French Revolution in 1789. In
1848 the motto “Liberty, Equality,
Fraternity” was reinstated and in 1880 Bastille Day was proclaimed a
French national holiday. In France, most
folks take Bastille Eve off and celebrate with festive balls and
brilliant displays of fireworks – we will celebrate with tasty food and
wine.
Price: $70.00 members / $75.00 non-members
Limit: 24
RSVP by July 5th
