There are a few high priced boutique wineries frequently referred to as California Cult wines.  More correctly, the buyers are simply fanatical about one small winery or another. This event will give an opportunity to compare some of these smaller “fanatic” wines with some of the larger well known "mainstream" California wineries.

Most of the Cult wines sell for well in excess of $100/bottle at release. Whereas the mainstream wines we will taste were at or less than $100 per bottle at release. You can decide for yourself if the Cult wines are or were worth the extra money.

We are tentatively going to dine at Laurelhurst Market, a gem of a small steak house on the east side. We haven’t worked out waiver of corkage yet, so it’s possible we will move to another steak house. But the wines are our main focus. Wherever we are, we will have at least a 3 course steak dinner to go with these wines.
