Antica Terra Dinner at Trader Vic's

We started off in the lounge with pupus and bonus pours of 1998 Shea Vineyards “Back Block” and 1998 Archery Summit “Arcus Estate” pinot noirs.  They each received the same number of votes for favorite.  NOTE: Arcus Estate was the first Oregon wine to retail for $100. Next flight was magnums of 2003, 2002, and 2001 Antica Terra. The 2002 was the clear favorite; followed by 2001; and 2003 was last.  All agreed the 2003 was a great wine by itself. But pale next to the other two vintages. Final flight was magnums of 2000 Antica Terra, 2000 Panther Creek “Shea”, and 2000 Chehalem “Ridgecrest Best Barrel”.  The Chehalem was the favorite; followed by Antica Terra; and then Panther Creek.

Again, all were very good. Dinner included Peking Duck and Glazed Pork Tenderloin with Mu Shi Pancakes and Plum Sauce; Mushroom Risotto; and Roasted Salmon with Celery Root Puree.  Virtually all attendees were repeat customers of our last event at Trader Vic’s; which speaks well for the restaurant.
