Ron Fenolio, Owner/Founder of Veedercrest Wines will moderate this event. Ron is now the sole proprietor of Veedercrest, one of the oldest wineries in Napa.  Jack and Simone Rubyn will also be in attendance. Jack is in his 20th year as Chairman of the Marin County Chapter of the International Wine & Food Society.
Andre Tchelistcheff was the most influential winemaker in the early 1970’s; mentoring such notables as Robert Mondavi and Louis Martini. Andre defined the style of California’s best wines; especially the Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve.
Andre telephoned amateur winemaker Al Baxter and invited himself to dinner at Al’s home. Andre had heard about wines made by Baxter in his basement and wanted to taste. After the dinner and tasting, Andre concluded the wines were very good and advised Baxter to go commercial. Baxter formed an investment group with co-principals Ron Fenolio, now sole proprietor, and the Ring Family of New Jersey. Hence, Veedercrest was born. First releases came in 1972.
Veedercrest is primarily a Cabernet Sauvignon winery specializing in steep hillside single vineyards. However, in the infamous 1976 “Judgement of Paris” tasting where Chateau Montelena and Stags Leap bested the best of the French, Veedercrest Chardonnay was acclaimed as the most “French” style Chardonnay entered (regardless of whether French or California in origin).
Veedercrest wines were later served at White House dinners under President Jimmy Carter and to Pope John Paul II during his visit to Philadelphia. In 1981 at the International Wine Exposition in Bristol, England, Veedercrest earned more awards for its wines than any other American winery.

Ron Fenolio’s tradition of making great award winning wines continues today. Several of which are 100 point wines. Ron is bringing wines which match our menu:
Classically prepared warm and creamy Bisque topped with a sprinkling of Freshly Chopped Parsley.

Fresh Iceberg, Baby Arugula and Baby Lettuces with Grape Tomatoes, Garlic Croutons and Red Onions
Jumbo Lump Crab Cake served with Sizzling Lemon Butter

Rich USDA Prime beef that's well marbled and deliciously juicy with Smashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach

Rum Crème Anglaise, Macadamia Chocolate Bark
